In honor of the World Design Capital 2012 Helsinki anniversary, every designer in Lapland at the time was commissioned to design a piece of jewelry that would in some way embody something characteristic of Helsinki in the designer's opinion. The silver Aallot necklace is Björn Weckström's interpretation of the waves of the Baltic Sea caressing the shores of Helsinki and the cliffs polished smooth by them.
