Kalevala x Marimekko

This fall, Marimekko's iconic Unikko-pattern designed by Maija Isola will shimmer in various Unikko-themed jewelry pieces in celebration of the pattern's 60th anniversary. The limited-edition collection is handmade at Kalevala's own jewelry factory in Finland, using 100% recycled silver.

Both Kalevala and Marimekko are leaders in their own fields and strong innovators of Finnish design; Marimekko through the art of printmaking and Kalevala in jewelry design by expressing strong and sculptural stories. This limited-edition collaboration collection brought together each brand’s strengths, and the result is an assortment of timeless and three dimensional Unikko-themed jewelry.

The Kalevala x Marimekko collaboration collection is made of 100% recycled silver. The modern collection includes timeless, three dimensional Unikko-themed jewelry pieces ranging from a bold brooch to a fun ear cuff and from a beautiful ring to a striking necklace.

Known as a symbol of joy and creativity, the beloved Unikko pattern gets a whole new interpreation in the hands of Kalevala Jewelry's skilled goldsmiths.

"This project required top goldsmithing skills. Each pieces in the collection has been designed with presicion and with proportions and comfort in mind to achieve an aethetically pleasing result. Each curve, each detail and the finishes of the silver surface have required a lot of planning and testing.
